The haunting past of young Miroku witnessing his father sucked in by his own Wind Tunnel bred the fear that he himself would one day be sucked in by his Wind Tunnel and drag his friends into it.

In the final part of the nightmare, Miroku had sucked in Shippo, Sango and Kagome, and was frozen in horror. The saving grace came when Miroku remembered Inuyasha stopping him in the same scenario in ep28 [Miroku Falls Into a Dangerous Trap].
